💡 动词性词语的限定特征 The Defining Features of Verbals

非限定动词,也称为动词性词语 (Verbals),是动词的形式,它们不带有传统的时态和人称屈折。由于缺少这些必要的屈折变化,它们不能充当标准限定子句的主谓语 (Main Predicate)。非限定动词对于锚定复杂的、可移动的短语至关重要。这些短语——不定式、动名词和分词——随后在句子中主要充当名词、形容词或副词。其决定性特征是它们不能显示动作发生的时间或执行者,这迫使它们处于从属地位。 Non-finite verbs, also known as Verbals, are forms of the verb that do not carry the traditional Tense and Person Inflection. Because they lack these necessary inflections, they cannot function as the Main Predicate of a standard finite clause. Non-finite verbs are essential for anchoring complex, mobile phrases. These phrases—the Infinitive, the Gerund, and the Participle—then function within the sentence primarily as nouns, adjectives, or adverbs. The defining characteristic is their inability to show when an action occurred or who performed it, forcing them into subordinate roles.

非限定动词核心功能 Non-Finite Core Functions 🎯 Summary

1
动词性词语失去了时态和人称标记。 Verbals (Infinitives, Gerunds, Participles) lose tense and person markings.
2
它们不能作为独立子句的主谓语动词。 They cannot anchor the main verb phrase of an independent clause.
3
非限定短语高度移动且灵活,通常充当名词或修饰语。 Non-finite phrases are highly mobile and flexible, often serving as nouns or modifiers.
4
它们保留了动词特性,可以接受宾语并使用副词。 They retain verbal qualities, allowing them to take objects and utilize adverbs.
